When I started looking to buy more natural and organic products I didn’t know where to start. There was and still is lots of research and trial and error but over the years I’ve found some stores that I continue to go back to because the products, company, customer service, price or shipping are excellent. Whether I am doing my weekly grocery order, phasing out my traditional products with healthier versions or gaining inspiration on items to buy, these sites are the ones I search first.
Since moving interstate I have found that the range of stores is small compared to Melbourne, and my knowledge of where those stores are is even smaller, so I tend to do most of my health/wellness shopping online. This allows me to check out ingredients before adding the products to my cart which would be time consuming to do in store, and it allows me to see a bigger range much easier which means I can buy more. I’m not sure whether that’s a positive or a negative 😉
Home & Beauty
I am obsessed with trying different products and brands and my go-to site when wanting to buy a big range is Shop Naturally. The prices are comparable with many other online stores, I can buy a huge range of products for my health, home, or beauty at once and shipping is fast. Really fast. Shop Naturally make it super easy for me to replace my traditional products with more healthier versions and I can read reviews by others which helps when making a decision.
If I want to browse new products to buy I visit Nourished Life. I just love it. The site is so easy to use, has a huge variety of brands and products and founder Irene Falcone is an inspiration of mine so I often visit the Nourished Life Blog to hear her suggestions and gain inspiration. I love that there are reviews on products because transitioning to healthier alternatives can be expensive so hearing about other people’s experience gives me some comfort. Nourished Life also sells a monthly sample box for $19.95 which is an awesome way to trial new healthy products.
I have been using Adorn Cosmetics for the past few years and won’t be changing anytime soon. Adorn was the first organic makeup I tried when I made the switch and I’m happy to have been so lucky the first time. Adorn offer an online colour match system which means that I can easily shop from home and be satisfied with what I selected. The customer service is one of the best I’ve experienced in a long time and their products are perfect. Whilst I might venture out and buy a few products from other brands to trial, my go-to for foundation and blush is always Adorn.
As I mentioned above, I am a bit obsessed with trying every healthy product or brand on the market so I can trial, compare, love and blog. This is made a bit difficult when I adore products or a brand because I want to continue using them and not stray and that’s how I feel about MooGoo. I have never trusted a company like I trust MooGoo so I always find myself venturing back to them whether it’s for sunscreen, cleaner or moisturiser. If they have it, I will often buy it from them first. Products are packed cute so they would make an excellent gift.
Since I moved to the ACT I’ve been using Doorstep Organics for my weekly fruit and vegetable order. As well as fruit and vegetables, Doorstep Organics also sells many other products sold at a traditional supermarket such as teas, spreads, breads, personal care, home cleaning and meat, except most are more natural or organic. Each product on the site has a symbol to indicate whether it’s organic or not which helps in my decision making. Doorstep is essentially a healthier supermarket that delivers to my house which is very convenient.
I have a huge list of books waiting to be read and an even bigger list of books waiting to be purchased from my go-to site; Book Depository. The selection is huge, the prices are usually cheaper than most Australian stores and there’s free delivery, so I can’t say no. I usually read the reviews on Amazon and then buy from Book Depository because shipping to Australia via Amazon isn’t exactly price friendly for the amount of books I buy or want.
Over the coming months I’ll do individual reviews on all of the different products I’ve purchased. I’m always on the lookout for new stores and new products to do with health and wellness so if you have any recommendations please let me know.
P.S These are my go-to sites but I still research the ingredients in the products that I buy. Whilst I think that most products on these sites are much healthier than many traditional products and the stores all have the best of intentions, it’s up to me to ensure that I make an informed decision.
